Vintage Pioneer Club and Cocktail Lounge Ashtray

$50.00

This vintage clear ashtray comes from the Pioneer Club and Cocktail Lounge in Las Vegas.

The Pioneer Club and Cocktail Lounge opened in April 1942 on the corner of First and Fremont streets in downtown Las Vegas. Housed in a building that had previously served as a clothing store, the casino became one of Fremont Street’s leading gambling halls as Las Vegas grew into a gaming destination. Its Western theme fit the city’s frontier image, while its central location put it in the middle of downtown’s bustling casino district.

In 1951, the club unveiled Vegas Vic, a towering neon cowboy whose waving arm and “Howdy Podner” greeting became iconic features of Fremont Street. The casino was renamed the New Pioneer Club in 1956 before returning to the Pioneer Club name in 1967. It operated as a casino until 1995, leaving behind a lasting piece of old Las Vegas history.
